Former MCC Golfer Finishes t-1st at Raines Development Group Intercollegiate

FLORENCE, S.C. – Troy University junior, Jordy Hayden maintained his first-place tie in the individual standings at the Raines Development Group Intercollegiate, but was eliminated on the first hole of a three-way playoff. Hayden fired 66-73 in the first two rounds then used a two-over 74 during the final round to equal Jacksonville's Duncan Stewart and Stan Guererro of Old Dominion at three-under 213.

The transfer from Meridian Community College drove into the rough on 18, and recovered onto the green in regulation before three-putting from 100 feet for bogey.

As a team, Troy shot 301 for a 54-hole score of 11-over 875, one stroke behind the Jacksonville (FL) University Dolphins.

Hayden was a member of the MCC golf team from 2004-2006. While at MCC, Hayden led the Eagles to two top-five NJCAA national championship finishes, including a 3rd place finish in 2006. Hayden also earned first team All-American honors as a freshman for the Eagles in 2005.

The even was played at the Country Club of South Carolina and featured 18 collegiate teams.
