MCC Softball Opens Rush Tournament

The Meridian Community College softball team opened play in
the 2015 Rush Invitational Tournament at Tommy McDonald Field Friday afternoon
and came away with a doubleheader split to begin the weekend. MCC started play
in the tournament by falling to Shelton State Community College by a final
score of 8-0, but later rebounded in the tournament by defeating Bishop State
Community College by a final of 2-1.
MCC moved its overall record to 2-8 with the Friday split
against Shelton State and Bishop State. The Lady Eagles are scheduled to
continue play in the Rush Invitational Tournament Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
against Itawamba Community College and will also play Central Alabama Community
College later in the day at 2 p.m. The games of the 2015 Rush Invitational
Tournament are all being played at Tommy McDonald Field which is located in
Highland Park.
