MCC Golf to face Mississippi State

(MERIDIAN) - Following their successful outing with the University of Mississippi last Saturday, the Meridian Community College golf team has been invited to play yet another Southeastern Conference golf team- the Mississippi State University Bulldogs.

The Eagles and the Bulldogs will tangle on Friday at either Old Waverly Golf Club or the MSU Golf Course (depending on weather conditions).

MCC/MSU will pair together in groups of four for their scrimmage match, MCC will play 8 golfers while MSU start 12 in the scrimmage.

Both MCC head coach, Sean Covich, and MSU head coach, Clay Homan, will use this match as the final round of their team qualifiers for their spring season opening events.

Following the MCC/MSU event, the Bulldogs will travel to Mobile, AL for the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate hosted by the University of South Alabama on Feb. 21-22.

The Eagles also travel to the Alabama Gulf Coast on Feb. 21-22 when they play in the Faulkner State Spring Invitational at Rock Creek Golf Club in Fairhope, AL.
