MCC Golf Set to Face Millsaps on Friday

(Meridian, MS) - The Meridian Community College golf team returns to action Friday as the Eagles face Millsaps College.

The one day, 18 hole match will be played at Lake Caroline Golf Club in Madison, MS.

MCC's line-up will be anchored by sophomore Adam Monsen in the No. 1 spot. Sophomore Clemens Dvorak will play No. 2, while Meridian native and freshman Easton Key will be in the No. 3 slot.

Freshman Jake Stirling and sophomore Brandt Garon will round out the starting five in the No. 4 and No. 5 positions, respectively.

"This is a new starting line up for us," said MCC coach Sean Covich.

"We've been struggling with our No. 5 man so putting the defending NJCAA National Champion in the fifth spot should correct that."

Competing as individuals for MCC will be: freshman Alex Grannon, sophomore Oscar Mariscal, freshman Ruston Smith, and sophomore Bo Reed.

"I'm glad Millsaps coach Doug Garner has agreed to this match, it allows both of us to play our entire rosters in a competitive environment on a great course."

The MCC vs. Millsaps match will begin at 1:30 pm Friday.
