MCC Soccer set to host Rush Tournament this Fri-Sat

(Meridian, MS) - The Meridian Community College soccer program will host the annual Rush Invitational Soccer Tournament at C.D. Smith Field this Friday and Saturday.

On Friday Hinds Community College women will face Gordon College women at 2 pm in the first game of the Rush Tournament.

The men from Hinds will then take on Gordon at 4 pm.

MCC will then take the field at 6 pm as the Lady Eagles look to remain undefeated again Lon Morris College out of Texas.

The MCC men will then take on Lon Morris in the nightcap on Friday at 8 pm.

Saturday action gets underway at 11 am as the women from Hinds take on Lon Morris.

The 1 pm game will feature the men from Hinds and Lon Morris.

At 3 pm the Lady Eagles of MCC will take on Gordon then at 5 pm MCC's men face Gordon in the final game of the Rush Tournament.

"The girls are playing really well and are peaking at the right time," said MCC head soccer coach Alex George.

"The men are battling to hang on to a .500 NJCAA record while they are at 3-4-1," added George.

"The boys know how important this weekend is and are looking forward to the challenge."
