MCC-ers Perform Well In 1st Round Of The Future Masters

(DOTHAN, AL) – Two MCC golfers played well in the first round of the 57th Annual Future Masters junior golf championship played in Dothan, AL.

MCC sophomore-to-be, Dustin Petit, who won the MACJC Hubert Tucker Award given to Mississippi’s JuCo golfer of the year, shot an opening round of 72 (+2). Jarrod Lemaster of Scottsboro, AL, who verbally committed to MCC last week, shot a 72 (+2) also.

Over 240 junior golfers from around the nation are competing in this prestigious event. An impressive list of golfing greats have competed in the Future Masters, including past U.S. Open champions Hubert Green and Jerry Pate, Masters winner Larry Mize, PGA champions Bob Tway, Mark Brooks and Shawn Micheel, and British Open winner Ben Curtis.
