Former MCC Golf Coach Wins Match

(BRANDON) Former MCC head golf coach, Lou Hart defeated Mississippi State University Lady golfer Leigh Phillips in the first round of the 2006 Mississippi State Amateur Golf Tournament. Phillips, a Meridian resident, had the lowest score in the qualifying round. Hart won the match 1 up. Hart advances to the second round of play Thursday.

The MWGA State Amateur is a match play format championship being played in Brandon at Castlewoods Country Club.

Hart has won the State Amateur nine times.
