MCC Baseball Sweeps Past Spring Hill

The Meridian Community College baseball returned to
action on Tuesday afternoon for the first time in ten days by traveling to
Mobile, AL to take on Spring Hill College. The Eagles enjoyed their road trip
on Tuesday by sweeping the doubleheader over Spring Hill by final scores of 9-5
and 12-7.
MCC improved to 9-5 overall with the sweep against Spring
Hill and have now won three straight games. The Eagles will return to the field
tomorrow at Scaggs Field for a doubleheader against Southwest Tennessee
Community College beginning at 1 p.m.
MCC got the day started on Tuesday by scoring seven early
runs that proved to be the difference in a 9-5 win over the Badgers in Game
One. JD Gann led the way at the plate by driving in four runs in Game One and
three crossed the plate on a home run. Milton Smith also had three singles and
one RBI in the victory, while Trace Jordan knocked in four runs.
MCC continued its momentum in Game Two by completing the
sweep over Spring Hill by a final score of 12-7. Case Ewing had a two-run
double in the victory, while Hunter Stanley added a double and two RBIs. Milton
Smith, CJ Hughes, and Trace Jordan each had an RBI single, while JD Gann had an
RBI single and a solo homer in Game Two.
