MCC Drops Road Set At JCJC

The Meridian Community Lady Eagles saw its six-game winning streak come crashing down on the road Monday night as Jones Junior College defeated MCC by a final score of 92-64.

Kristin Sampson led the Lady Eagles in scoring with 23 points, while Victoria Stewart added 17 points.

MCC dropped its overall record to 10-2 for the 2013-2014 season and 2-1 in MACJC South Division play. Jones moved its overall record to 8-4 for the season and 2-1 in South Division play.

The MCC men also fell Monday night at the hands of the Bobcats by a final score of 94-70. The Eagles dropped its overall record to 1-10 for the season and 0-3 in South Division play. JCJC is now 11-1 overall for the season and 3-1 in league play.

MCC will look to bounce back with a home doubleheader Thursday night against Co-Lin. The women will take to the floor at 5:30 followed by the men's game at 7:30.
