MCC set to dedicate new field house

The dedication of the Jimmie Evans Field House will be Friday, Sept. 11, at 9 a.m.

“Many of you (MCC faculty and staff) worked with Mr. Evans during his long tenure at MCC, and I know you’ll want to come out and honor him with your presence at the dedication. It will be a short ceremony at the field house, which is located between the tennis courts and Thornton Hall,” said MCC President Dr. Scott Elliott.

It is being scheduled purposefully on Friday morning because, with the four-day class schedule, it seemed a good time for many faculty and staff to be able to attend, Elliott added.

MCC’s Construction Trades and Industrial Maintenance programs faculty and students, as well as other college personnel and programs, have done another marvelous job in building this new on-campus facility. It stands as another testimonial to the excellence of instruction at MCC.

The new field house will be home to the Men’s/Women’s soccer team and Men’s Women’s tennis team locker rooms as well as offices for the tennis program. It will be located between he tennis courts and the C.D. Smith Soccer Field.
