MCC preps for Jones County tonight
(MERIDIAN)- Both Meridian Community College basketball teams return to action Monday night as they play host to MACJC South Division foe- Jones County Junior College.
The Lady Eagles and Lady Bobcats tip off at 6 p.m. while the Eagles and Bobcats play at 8 p.m.
The Jones County women are coming off a 3-point victory at Hinds last week, a 72-69 win, which puts the Lady Bobcats at 8-5 overall and 1-1 in division play.
Meanwhile, the MCC women are coming off a difficult, 76-79 loss at #13 East Central Thursday night. The loss was MCC’s first setback since they were defeated by then top-ranked Trinity Valley (TX) back in November. The ECCC loss puts MCC at 11-2 overall and 1-1 in the South Division.
In men’s action, the Jones County Bobcats will carry a 5-8 overall mark and 1-1 divisional record into tonight’s game after they defeated Hinds 81-68 last week.
The MCC men, led by sophomore Regis Huddleston who is averaging over 15 points per game, will carry an 8-5 overall mark and 2-0 divisional record into tonight’s contest.
Huddleston scored a career-high 33 points in MCC’s 87-66 drumming of rival-ECCC last week as the Eagles stayed undefeated in divisional action.
