MCC soccer star named MACJC Player of the Week
From School Reports
The Meridian Community College Lady Eagles are navigating
through a very difficult 2016 soccer schedule in the rugged MACJC South
Division, but one player has been awarded for her superb play. Sophomore
striker Kedrianna Cole was named this week’s MACJC women’s offensive player of
the week as voted on by members of the conference. Cole helped guide the Lady
Eagles to a non-conference victory over Itawamba Community College last week at
C.D. Smith Field by a final count of 5-1. Cole scored a pair of goals in the
four-goal victory over the Lady Indians which was good enough for her to earn
the offensive honor from the MACJC.
Cole is a native of Meridian, MS and attended high school at
Northeast Lauderdale where she was a star on the Lady Trojan soccer team. Cole
and the Lady Eagles will return to action on Wednesday with a non-conference
road game at East Central Community College in Decatur at 5 p.m. The next
scheduled home contest at C.D. Smith Field for the Lady Eagles will be Friday
at 1 p.m. against non-conference foe Northwest Mississippi Community College.
The MCC men will also be in the action this week with a road game at ECCC on
Wednesday night at 7 p.m. and will return to C.D. Smith Field against
Northwest on Friday at 3 p.m.
