St. Pete downs MCC on final day
PANAMA CITY, Fla. — The Meridian Community College Eagles faced off against St. Petersburg College in one of three consolation games played on Sunday as part of The First Pitch Classic.
St. Pete bested Meridian 9-4.
The Eagles scored two runs in the top of the second and third innings only to see St. Pete answer in the bottom of the second with five runs and three runs in the bottom of the third. The Titans would add a run in the bottom of the sixth to secure a 9-4 victory over MCC.
Kenney Sanders went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double, RBI, run scored, and a stolen base. Ben Kingsley went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Jordan pace went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored.
The Eagles return to action on Friday when they host Shelton State at 2:00 pm.
