MERIDIAN TRAVELS TO CO-LIN FOR SOUTH DIVISION SHOWDOWN
Meridian Community College will travel to Wesson, MS for a crucial ballgame with MACJC South Division foe-Copiah-Lincoln Community College.
The Lady Eagles (12-2, 2-1), who are in a tie for second place in the division, defeated Jones County Monday night by a score of 83-77.
Freshman Tiara Parker and sophomore NaDosha Strickland each scored 23 points in the win over Jones County.
Last season, the Lady Eagles and Co-Lin met three times, with the Lady Wolves winning all three of those meetings- including the NJCAA Region 23 championship game by a score of 67-60.
This season Co-Lin is 9-3 overall and 1-2 in the division.
Tip-off for the women’s game is set for 6:00 p.m.
MCC’s men find themselves in a tie for second place in the South Division heading into Thursday night’s contest with the first place Copiah-Lincoln Wolves.
Meridian (8-6, 2-1) dropped its lone divisional loss to Jones County by one point (61-62) Monday night.
Sophomore Regis Huddleston continued to lead the Eagles in scoring with a game-high 27 points versus JCJC, the week before he scored a game-high 33 against East Central.
Co-Lin has won 8 of their last 9 ballgames and is undefeated in the South Division.
Tip off for the men is set for 8 p.m.
