Lady Eagle soccer player inks with William Carey


Meridian Community College women’s soccer standout, Anastasia Vogel is signing with William Carey University.

Vogel compiled 35 goals and 8 assists in her two years at MCC, making her fourth on the all time scoring list.

She had 19 goals and 4 assist her freshman year, as she was named All Region 23 he freshman year.

Her sophomore season she scored 16 goals and had 4 assists.

She was named the NJCAA National Player of the Week her sophomore year for the month of October.

Vogel is a native of Pontotoc, MS, where she played for Pontotoc High School and was named a MHSAA All Star. She also played club for the Chicago Fire Juniors of Mississippi.

In 2009 she helped lead the Lady Eagles to a Region 23 crown, scoring 2 goals and having 1 assist in a 3-1 win over Pearl River for the championship.

In 2010, she helped lead the Lady Eagles to a NJCAA Region 23 Runner-up finish.
