Men’s tennis heads to Nationals

Meridian Community College men's tennis team begins play at the NJCAA Division I Men’s National Tournament on Monday in Plano, TX. The tournament is being hosted by Collin County Community College

The national seeding meeting was held Sunday to determine the draw. Meridian men enter the tournament with a 12-2 regular season record; they were the Region 23 champions over Itawamba Community College 12-9 at the Regional Championships held April 20-21 in Meridian.

All six singles' players from Meridian will play on the first day as well as all three doubles' teams.

Participants at the national tournament are Lucio Cangiano, Gabriel Nicotra, Andres Cepede, Jeremy Purdum, Wade Henderson, Kyle Dew. Brandyn Landry, and Justin Giles.
