Dickerson selected in MLB Draft

Meridian Community College outfielder Corey Dickerson was picked 871st by Colorado in the 29th round on Day 2 of the 2009 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.

Dickerson helped lead the Eagles to the Region 23 championship with a .381 average, 15 home runs and 54 RBIs.

The 6-2, 210-pound freshman also had a team-high 21 doubles, five triples and 14 stolen bases.
