The Meridian Community College women started the 2008-09 campaign with a road victory.

The Lady Eagles held a seven-point lead at the break and extended it to an 11-point final.

Former Meridian High star Tiara Parker scored 29 points, including three from beyond the arc, to lead MCC.

Philadelphia's Natonya McWilliams had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. LaQuita Burrough pumped in 13 and pulled down 11 boards.

MCC (1-0) is back in action Sunday at Andrew College.
