Two former MCC basketball players join West Alabama

(LIVINGSTON, Ala.)- Two former Meridian Community College standouts are among 10 new faces on West Alabama’s men’s basketball team this coming fall.

Calvin Payton and Maurice Naylor both join the Tigers following two years under the tutelage of coach George Brooks.

Payton, a wing forward, averaged double figures with 12 points. Naylor, a former Meridian High School standout, tallied 12 points and eight boards per contest. He posted a season-high 21 points last year against Gulf Coast.
