WMER 1390 AM radio to broadcast MCC Basketball Games

MERIDIAN, Miss. - Continuing to bring the best live junior college sporting events to Meridian, MCC, has teamed up with local Christian/southern gospel radio station 1390 AM WMER to broadcast the school’s upcoming double-header basketball games with Coahoma Community College.

The broadcast begins this Saturday (Dec. 9) with the Lady Eagles game v. Coahoma at 4 pm and will continue onto the conclusion of the men’s game between MCC and Coahoma.

MCC’s sports information director and head golf coach, Sean Covich will call the play-by-play action. Former MCC male athlete of the year and North East Lauderdale High School basketball standout, Clinton Hales, will provide the color commentary.

This Saturday's MCC men’s game is the final home game for the Eagles during the fall semester. Coach George Brooks and his squad will travel to Wallace-Selma on December 15 and then wrap up the fall portion of their schedule with a trip to Shelton State on December 19.

This Saturday’s game for the Lady Eagles will mark their final fall semester game as they will be off until a trip to face Georgia Perimeter on January 5.

Also, any fan that brings a new, unwrapped toy to the game will receive free admission into the basketball double-header- as part of the MCC golf and tennis team’s partnership with the US Marie Corps Toys For Tots campaign.
